Tanvi Agrawal

With research interests at the intersection of environmental change and development, particularly in the agricultural and water sectors, Tanvi is a Research Associate in the Food Futures Initiative at CSEI.

She has previously worked with the Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction Unit of the UN World Food Programme, VNV Advisory Services and with Dr. Shrinivas Badiger at the Centre for Environment and Development, ATREE. As an aspiring geographer, she has experience conducting mixed methods research using qualitative and quantitative tools.

Tanvi holds an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford where she was a scholar with the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development. Her dissertation research analysed crop diversification practices of a Gond adivasi community in Madhya Pradesh under climate adaptation, nutrition and income motivations, and explored suitable crop diversity conservation strategies. Her undergraduate studies were in Environmental Science, Botany and Chemistry at St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore where she was a KVPY scholar.

Apart from her academic interests, Tanvi is a nature and movement enthusiast -- she enjoys climbing trees, ballet, ultimate frisbee and spending time with kids.
